Stephen Theodore's journey in racing was almost inevitable, having grown up immersed in the industry. As the son of accomplished trainer Les Theodore, he was surrounded by horses, success, and the excitement of the winner's circle from an early age. Les enjoyed an illustrious career, highlighted by four Group 1 victories. On his mother's side, Stephen is the grandson of Riverina racing legend Bert Honeychurch, making a career in racing a natural path.

In 2003, Stephen obtained his trainer's licence and quickly made his mark on the industry. Within 12 months, he secured a Group 2 victory and a third-place finish in a Group 1 race with Count Ricardo. Over the following 15 years training in Victoria, Stephen established a reputation for consistent success, recording more than 300 winners and a further 23 top-three finishes in black-type races.

Following his move to South Australia, Stephen embraced a new challenge as Racing Manager for Travis Doudle Racing. During his five years in the role, he helped modernise owner communications through innovative video content and stable updates, providing owners with regular insight into their horses and life within the stable.

In 2024, Stephen was delighted to announce the next chapter of his career with a move to Murray Bridge. Together with the Stephen Theodore Racing team, he is excited to build on his proven track record and continue delivering success from his on-course training base at the Murray Bridge Racing Club.
